Privacy policy
Bakehouse Collect is an app you install on your own Wix site. It helps you offer collection times, plan what to make, track what your boxes contain, check your allergen information and ring up counter sales.
The short version: your data stays in your own Wix account. This app has no server and no database of its own. Everything it records is written into collections inside your Wix site's CMS, which you own and control.
1. Who we are
A Stott, trading as Markland Hill (“we”), publishes the Bakehouse Collect app. You can reach us at support@bakehousecollect.co.uk.
If you are a customer of a shop that uses this app, we are not the people holding your information — the shop is. Please contact the shop directly, and see section 7.
2. Who is responsible for what
If you are a site owner who has installed this app, you remain the data controller for your customers' information. The app is a tool you operate; it does not collect your customers' data on its own behalf and does not transmit it to us.
Wix hosts the app and the site it runs on. Wix's own privacy policy applies to that hosting, and to everything Wix already holds about your orders and contacts independently of this app.
3. What the app records, and where
The app creates collections in your Wix CMS. Nothing is copied anywhere else, except to an automation address you choose — see Reminders and automations below.

The app also reads information Wix already holds — your products, inventory, categories, orders and discount rules — in order to do its work. It does not keep a separate copy of these.
Reminders and automations
The app can cause a message to reach your customer, and it is worth being precise about how. It cannot send email itself and does not try to. What it does is tell your Wix Automations that something happened — a collection was booked a day away, moved, or handed over — and your own automation sends whatever you wrote, from your own site.
So the wording is yours, the sending is Wix's, and the customer's address never leaves your site on our account. A booking records the date its reminder went, so the same one is never sent twice.
To do this the app sends the booking's details — the customer's name, email address and Wix contact ID, the order number, the collection time and what was ordered — to the automation address you paste into the app's settings. An address from Wix Automations keeps them within Wix. If you paste an address from another service instead, the details go to that service, by your choice and under its terms.
Counter sales
Where you use the counter till, the app creates an order in your Wix store and records that payment was taken offline. It does not process card payments and never sees card details. If you choose to put a name on a counter sale, that name is stored on the order itself and no contact record is created for it.
4. What we can see
We do not receive your data, and we cannot browse it. Three narrow exceptions are worth stating plainly:
- Diagnostic logs. When something fails, the app writes a message to logs that we can read in order to fix it. These messages can occasionally include an order number, a product name or an error returned by Wix. They are not used for any other purpose.
- Support you ask for. If you send us a screenshot or an export while asking for help, we see what you send us. We keep it only as long as it takes to answer you.
- Installation details from Wix. When you install the app, Wix tells us your site identifier and the permissions you granted, because an app cannot run on a site it cannot name. That is information about the installation, not about your shop's data or your customers, and we do not use it for anything else.
5. Why the app is allowed to hold this
For site owners in the UK and EU, the lawful basis for holding a customer's name, contact details and collection time is performance of a contract — a customer who books a collection slot cannot be served without it. Allergen and ingredient records support your legal obligations under food information law.
This app does not use anyone's data for marketing, advertising, profiling or automated decision-making, and it does not sell or share it.
6. How long it is kept
- Bookings are kept while they are useful for fulfilling and evidencing the order. The app's Privacy settings let you set a retention period, after which old bookings are anonymised rather than deleted — the name, email, phone and Wix contact ID are removed, and the order number, date and contents remain, so your production history stays intact.
- Everything else (settings, recipes, the allergen sheet) is kept until you change or remove it.
7. Requests from your customers
If one of your customers asks you to remove their details, the app's Privacy settings will find and anonymise their bookings for you. Note that their order, contact record and any emails Wix sent them are held by Wix, not by this app — to remove those, delete the contact in Wix and archive or delete their orders there.
Individuals have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict and port their personal data, and to complain to a supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. Those requests should go to the shop holding the data.
8. Where data is held, and who else is involved
Your data stays within your Wix site, on Wix's infrastructure, wherever Wix hosts it. The app uses no third-party analytics, advertising, tracking or error-reporting services, and adds no cookies or trackers to your storefront.
The collection time picker at checkout does keep two small settings in the shopper's browser (local storage), so it can draw itself before the app has answered: whether your shop only takes collections, and which of its positions on the checkout page to show. Neither says anything about the shopper, and neither is used to recognise or follow them.
Payment for the app itself is handled by Wix. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
9. Security
The app runs on Wix's infrastructure and uses Wix's own authentication. Only signed-in users with dashboard access to your site can reach its administrative functions. We hold no credentials of yours and no copy of your data.
10. Children
The app is a business tool and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
11. This website
Separately from the app: this website sets no cookies, loads nothing from another origin and runs no analytics. If you send the enquiry form, the name, email address, shop address and message you type are emailed to us so we can reply, and are kept only as long as it takes to deal with your enquiry. Resend delivers that email, and our inbox, where it is kept, is hosted by Purelymail.
The site itself is hosted on Google Cloud Run in London
(europe-west2) and served through Cloudflare, which
provides our DNS and sits in front of it. Requests therefore pass
through Cloudflare in transit, so it sees the IP address and the page
requested. Neither is used for analytics, advertising or tracking, and
neither adds a cookie to these pages. None of this applies to
the app, whose data stays in your own Wix site as described
above.
12. Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, note it in the app's release notes.
